The upcoming Telugu action film Salaar is already setting records even before its release. The film, which stars Prabhas and Shruti Haasan, will be released in 1979 locations across North America, making it the widest release for an Indian film in the region.

The announcement was made by Pratyangira Cinemas, one of the overseas distribution companies of Salaar. The company tweeted that the film will be released in “over 1979 screens in North America,” which is a record number for an Indian film.

The previous record was held by the Hindi film RRR, which was released in 1900 locations across North America in 2022. Salaar is expected to surpass that record by a significant margin.
