CHENNAI, INDIA – A 20-year-old nursing student was found dead in a hotel in Chennai, India, on Friday, and her boyfriend has been arrested for her murder. The victim, Fousia, was found lifeless in a hotel room where she had been staying with her boyfriend, Ashiq. Ashiq had allegedly posted a picture of Fousia’s body on his WhatsApp status before fleeing the scene.

The couple had been in a relationship for five years and had recently moved in together. According to police, they had an argument on Friday evening that escalated into violence. Ashiq allegedly strangled Fousia to death and then posted a picture of her body on his WhatsApp status.
The incident came to light when Fousia’s friends saw the disturbing image on her boyfriend’s WhatsApp status. They immediately alerted the police, who traced the couple to a hotel in Chromepet. Upon arrival, the police found Fousia’s body in the hotel room. Ashiq was arrested shortly after. He has confessed to the murder.
